Our Mission
At Cats Rescue & Welfare Aid, our mission is simple: to ensure that no cat in need is left behind and to empower the tireless local non-profit cat rescues who dedicate their lives to making this possible.
The overwhelming demand for help has pushed these small, dedicated teams to their limits. We saw this firsthand as we supported a local rescue—scanning microchips, reuniting cats with their families, providing temporary accommodation, and socialising feral kittens to find them loving homes. Along the way, we realised the critical need to do more—not just for the cats, but for the people on the front lines of their care.
The truth is, many of these incredible local rescues operate on shoestring budgets, relying heavily on public donations and their own personal resources. They receive little to no support from larger charities, who often prioritise marketing campaigns over taking in cats when people need them most.
Meanwhile, local rescues are the ones stepping in to:
- Trap, neuter, and care for feral cats.
- Foster and socialise "unadoptable" kittens.
- Reunite lost cats with their families.
- Help injured strays find safety and care.
- Provide a home for unwanted cats due to long term medical conditions.
Yet they do this with minimal funding, no grants, and little recognition. Many can't afford to close their doors or turn away cats, even when space and finances are stretched to breaking point.
Why We Exist
Cats Rescue & Welfare Aid was founded to fill the gap. Our mission is to support these unsung heroes by:
- Providing financial aid for vet bills, food, and essential supplies.
- Building a network of volunteers to share the workload.
- Funding equipment and resources so rescues can continue their lifesaving work.
- Assisting in reducing the feral cat population through neutering and socialisation schemes.
- Providing education on welfare and raising awareness to prevent the numbers of cats entering rescues.
We recognise that feral and semi-feral cats often fall through the cracks. Many large charities won't take feral kittens older than 8 weeks, claiming they are too difficult to socialise. But these kittens, if left unhelped, perpetuate the cycle of feral cat populations. We believe every cat deserves a chance, no matter their age, temperament, or circumstances.
